Vastu and the Money Plant: Where to Place It for Wealth and Positive Energy

Vastu and the Money Plant: Where to Place It for Wealth and Positive Energy

Over the past few days, I’ve been observing my home, and everything seems perfectly aligned with Vastu Shastra—all thanks to my mother, who follows it with devotion.

In Indian homes, plants are more than decoration; they carry energy and meaning. One such plant that has always been central in our home is the Vastu Money Plant. Whether it’s climbing along a window or placed in a bottle of water, it holds a special place.

According to Vastu, the money plant attracts prosperity, harmony, and good fortune. When placed in the right direction, especially the southeast, it’s believed to strengthen positive energy and reduce financial obstacles.

Why the Money Plant Matters in Vastu?

The money plant, also known as Epipremnum aureum, is believed to attract prosperity, financial growth, and stability. In terms of care, it’s a low-maintenance plant, and that makes it a plus, one reason why it’s loved. When we open the book of Vastu, it says that the negative energy in your home gets absorbed with the help of a money plant. All the financial stress and emotional unrest are dealt with the help of a money plant with ease.

As kids, we often used to make this plant sound more symbolic by claiming if you have a money plant in the house, you’ll have good money. Well, that is not wrong, but also reassuring – like watching it grow, leaf by leaf, reminding you that abundance takes root slowly and steadily.

Where to Place the Vastu Money Plant

Ever since I’ve brought my plant online from Urvann, placement has been the most important aspect of it. According to Vastu Shastra, and money plant indoors, direction matters just as much as the plant itself:

Where I do not know much about the direction of the plant, here are a few things I derived from reading plant blogs or descriptions:

South-East Corner: Now, that’s one of the best decisions for spots. In India, it’s said that it’s ruled by Agni (Fire) and associated with Venus, the planet of luxury (I do not know much about astrology, but that’s what the research says). A money plant here is said to balance fiery energy and attract wealth.

North Direction: Ruled by Kubera, the god of wealth. Placing the plant here is linked with career growth and financial progress.

Avoid North-East: This direction is sacred and linked with peace and clarity. Placing a money plant here may lead to energy imbalance or emotional tension.

Now, a common question a lot of us face is, should we keep the money plant in water or soil? Well, to be honest, both work well. Many prefer placing the plant in a glass bottle filled with water, not just because it’s easy to manage, but because the water element represents flow, clarity, and calmness.

Care Tips with a Vastu Lens

The plant should be cared for as any other plant. When keeping it in soil, use fertile soil and care for it. If it thrives in water, then make sure you change the water every once in a while. A few other things are:

  • Don’t let the leaves dry or turn yellow, it’s said to block energy.
  • Let it grow upwards, never let it trail down on the floor.
  • You can borrow a cutting from a thriving plant rather than buying a new one—an old belief that suggests sharing prosperity makes it multiply.

Final Thoughts

In our home, the Vastu Money Plant isn’t just a plant; it becomes a lovely green member of the house. The liveliness that the green fresh leaves bring adds happiness and charm to the home atmosphere. At my home, it’s grown for generations now. Before my mother, it was her mother who believed in the energy and intentionally placed money plant in good corners.

So, now you get it! As lovely as the plant looks, it’s not required to just place it anywhere. Choose a direction that looks right in the books of Vastu and let the plant do its natural magic. Who knows, it might just bring along the wealth and peace you’ve been waiting for.
